#PackersDaily: You can probably kiss Cooper DeJean goodbye

Iowa defensive back Cooper DeJean held a private pro day for NFL teams today and put on a show, most likely ensuring he won't be around when the Packers pick at 25th overall.

Cooper Dejean would no doubt be a nice pick-up in round 1 but not convinced he would be the best Packer choice. There are so many very talented players, particularly on the OL that I'd like to see added. Otherwise, a talented Edge rusher or a top CB might fall. Why trade up giving up draft capital when there is a considerable amount of talent available several rounds deep. Gutey has lots of top choices if he stays put or falls back for extra picks. I will add if OL is in round 1 I'd be very content with Tyler Nubin at #41. That or say either LB Edgerrin Cooper or Payton Wilson at #41.

I will add that all too often many of us focus too much on RAS scores and Combine performances. No, I haven't forgotten about CB, Jackson from 5 years ago. However, if a player is a football player who has great instincts are they able to function and be successful at the NFL level? I believe Nubin has the skills necessary to be a great addition to the Packer defense and the question is would he be available at #58? I don't believe so!

Edgerrin Cooper, yes. Payton Wilson, no. Wilson has already torn his ACL -- TWICE!

Either one yes. Preferably two of the top three. Payton Wilson made a full recovery and had a fantastic year last year and the year before; not too mention his recent phenomenal combine. Certainly he is worth the risk even in round one. He is better than Edgerrin Cooper and Junior Colsum (The top three) Moreover the University medical staff cleared him for playing two years ago. The way some see it the Packers need two more starting caliber ILBs. I agree preferably two of the top three. For sure we need at least one. Absolutely one of the top three. Granted, I prefer great defenses and subscribe to the old adage that defenses win (or lose) championships.

Will Gutey move up for a real Playmaker?? He wasted two four picks on his guy, Savage, who doesn't come close to Dejean's ability.

Finding your favorites after the Pro Days were programmed into the Simulator is more difficult. The premium O linemen will be jumped on Rds. one-two. Morgan went to Dallas in this mockery, assuming wide-zone scheme:
#25 Tyler Guyton . OT OKL
#41 Devontez Walker WR NC
#58 Junior Colson SLB Mich
#88 B.Coleman OG TCU
#91 Mustapha S Wake
#126 Jalen Ford MLB Texas
#169 Rasheen Ali RB Marshall
#202 Myles Murphy DT NC
#219 Sam hartman QB N Dame
#245 Elijah Jones CB BC
#255 B Jackson Edge WASU

Gutedkunst will have to move around to get the targets. I would use some of 2025 picks to get into Rd Two.

I would be shocked if we took a WR in the first 2 rounds.

This guy may go round one. It is about getting Players, not just plugging Needs.

JB don't try to figure out what Gute will do.
If you liked Morgan stick with him.
(At least until they leave the top 50.)
I would never take these first 3 picks.
And if he does.
I'll use the word Sabotage.

Morgan gone at #24 to Dallas who is scoping out OTs to replace Tyron Smith, as well as the 49rs and KC. Nobody will fall out of round one fromthis crop of offensive tackles. Walker is a deep threat, a Value pick. We saw what happens when Watson is sidelined. I would typically take the CB at #41, or Beebe, but he is more of a power gap guy, not a mover for wide-zone. Maybe Gutedkunst is changing the dynamic for LaFleur??

I would never want to think like that guy. Colson is still a question mark with the injuries. I would take the Move Up for Q. Mitchell. T. Sweat may move a few spots down after the DWI, but I doubt he falls past the Raiders @ #44. His Agent has to get him under control and on the treadmill. I would still bag him at #41 because he takes on two people and plays with athleticism and has power. See if he wises up?

OMG....every year because pundits say a certain player is the guy posters get their panties in a bunch if the Packers do not draft him. RELAX!

Dejean would be a nice addition but as I said I don't think it is a must selection with all the talent sitting there at 25.

I love De jean teaming up with McKinney at Safety! If De jean is still available at 20 try to trade up with Pittsburgh at 20 by offering 25 and 88 in exchange for De Jean. This was one of three trade up options I saw online. This one will give us De jean without giving up the farm. If De jean does not last to pick 20 then just draft a safety with our second pick in the second round (58). Ideally De Jean would last until 25 but after his pro day it ain't gonna happen.
