Nags- Z hasn't proved he can last a whole season with his back issue. I had spinal fusion surgery, and although successful, it has never been 100%. Don't wish Z any ill-will, except when he is trying to meet 12 in the backfield. GPG!

Since we resigned Campbell and Douglas and we acquired Reed, I thought I'd look at who are the 21 guys on defense that I'd want dressed for the game.
DL; Usually, we dress 4 or 5. Clark, Lowry, Slaton, Reed. I don't think anybody has won a 5th spot yet.
Edge: Again, 4 or 5. Gary and PSmith . I don't think anybody else has won a spot yet.
ILB: Campbell, that's obvious. We only play one ILB quite a bit of the time and he's it. Barnes is next in line. I don't think anybody else has won a spot.
Corners: Alexander, Douglas, Stokes.....those are three good ones. We'd like two more, because these guys do get hurt.
Safeties: Savage and Amos for sure. Not sure about anybody else right now.
So by my count, that's 13 locks but we still need 8 more guys. On defense alone. That's a lot of spots you have to fill with some guy who might have to start for you in the playoffs. We have guys under contract who've been with the team a while, like Summers, and Heflin, and Jean-Charles......but I'm not sure I want them to determine how the season ends.
With 7 picks in the top 140, we can certainly get some help. The defensive lineup looks really good so far.....until we get some injuries. We need more horses.
