Packers Question of the day - Season Awards

There may be one game left to play, but likely not much will change amongst your personal opinions in that respect, whether it be in a win or a loss on Sunday. Well, at least not much should change.

Most of us pretty much have an idea as to who would fit under the following categories. Which Packers are your recipients for:

Team M.V.P:

Most improved:

Defensive Player of the Year:

Offensive Player of the year:

Best Rookie:

Player who Needs the most Improvement:

MVP: QB1

Most improved: Adams

DPOY: Daniels and NO one else was worthy

OPOY: QB1

Best Rookie: There isn't a single rook that I can think of who has contributed meaningfully this year. Not good.

Needs Improvement: Randall. 1st round bust so far. Rollins is a close 2nd. This is also not good.

I think you can argue a case for HHCD as DPOY, but Daniels is definitely a sure pick. For the fun of it, I'll also throw Bakhtiari up against Adams in a battle for most improved.

While not flashy, Kenny Clark has been solid, and in comparison to rookie expectations, I think he could certainly be labeled as the best on the team.

You have a fair point about HHCD. He's had a pretty good year. Not Collins in 09-10 good, but good.

Regarding Clark: If by solid, you mean "invisible," or "hardly on the field because Guion is better right now," then we agree. Clark is young. I'm willing to wait for him to develop. But he's been a complete non-factor this year other than recovering a botched snap because the Vikings center is not an NFL caliber player.

Kenny Clark was not a good #1 pick.Pick a lineman that could at least harass the qb

LOL, Bearmeat, you're terrible: but I laughed about invisible because he's not as good as Guion.

MVP: A Rodgers
Most improved: Adams
DPOY: Daniels
OPOY: Nelson
Rookie: Martinez was really playing well before injury or Spriggs once Barclay was benched Spriggs filled in nicely at RG a position me never played.
Needs most improvement Starks, Davis, Barclay, Randall needs to stop being played on the outside.

Team MVP: Aaron Rodgers
Most improved: HHCD followed closely by Adams. HHCD improved enough to make the pro-bowl.
OPOY: Aaron Rodgers, if we can't have same player twice, I'll go with Jordy Nelson here.
DPOY: Mike Daniels
Best Rookie: Probably Kenny Clark, Martinez a close second.
Needs to improve: Randall, Rollins and Trevor Davis
For #1 and 2 draft picks to be in their second full seasons and and for both to have at least 100+ QB ratings against them is not very positive.

Note: I would have waited for the end of the season at least, if not hopefully the playoffs before this article as plays could be made to change some of my selections, especially the needs to improve category.

Go Pack Go! Thanks, Since '61

If it would not have been for that TD pass to Thielen where HHCD both badly misjudged the angle and then ran into Rollins, I would have potentially agreed with that decision. Ha Ha has improved, but he still has some work to do before he is considered a top tier safety. I can rattle off 10 safeties that I'd take over HHCD at this point.

Point - HHCD's angle on that play to Thielen did look bad, however, speaking for myself I'm not sure which defense the Packers were in or what Dix's assignment was on the play. While I selected HHCD as most improved I never said that I consider him as top tier safety just the most improved Packer. Although Dix has had a very good season through 15 games. Thanks, Since '61

Clark might be most consistent rookie he probably played more snaps than was anticipated but that should help for next season he could really be a impact player next season. I like Daniels but not many impact plays he talks the talk but it ends there.

Clark played more snaps than anticipated? Initially, I disagreed, but having checked the stats, you're closer to right than I was. With 320 snaps, I'd say Clark played about what I expected. Clark flashed, and his pass rush has improved over the course of the season, though there is still a ways to go. I suppose Clark has not been a real impactful player, but he was useful, and I find his play to be encouraging.

Lowry got more snaps than I expected.

Daniels: 619 snaps; Guion 415; Clark: 320; Lowry: 146.

AR is MVP.
Jordy, Adams, HaHa, Daniels have all played well.
But, take away AR and not much else really matters.

MVP: AR (Perry)
Most Improved: Thomas/Adams (Ryan)
OPOY: Bakhtiari (Nelson)
DPOY: Daniels (Perry)
Rookie: Clark (Lowry)
Player who needs improvement: Goodson. This is not even close: Goodson was easily the worst player on the field every time he played. (Starks/Barclay)

Biggest surprise: Taylor (Monty to MM, but not to NP, RC, and Bearmeat).
