Packers Calendar: Minicamp Begins in Green Bay

Practice is scheduled to take place Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at Ray Nitschke Field.

The final week of the offseason program takes place beginning Tuesday in Green Bay.

Minicamp practice is scheduled to take place starting at 11:30 a.m. at Ray Nitschke Field, which will be open to the public.

It appears as if there might be a window of opportunity for the Packers to practice outside. Even though there's a 50 percent chance of rain later in the day in Green Bay on Tuesday, according to The Weather Channel, there's no more a 10 percent chance during the two-hour practice timeframe.

Perhaps the question is whether the overnight rain had an impact on the playing surface, allowing the Packers to practice outdoors.

If history is any indication, the Packes will move practice inside to the Don Hutson Center in case of rain or the playing surface is deemed unsafe.

In some instances, they've allowed fans inside and on others, they haven't.

Either way, Mike McCarthy's post-practice press conference will air on the team's official website, rain or shine.

McCarthy will address the media following the day's session at approximately 1:35 p.m.

Minicamp is the only three days of the offseason program that is mandatory for all players under contract to attend.

"Minicamp is a continuation of what we're doing in OTAs," said McCarthy. "The reality of it, it's mandatory versus voluntary. We've actually gone about our install schedule a little different, trying to highlight certain days throughout the OTAs to get the rookies some review times. ... We'll move the last Install until minicamp."
