4 P.M. CT marked the release of the 2017 preseason schedule for all 32 teams, and there was a little surprise waiting for the Packers.

They open up their preseason at home against the visiting Eagles, the second time they've seen Philadelphia since the 2015 thumping administered by the visitors. To follow up that meeting, they'll travel into Washington to match up against Redskins. It'll be the first time they've met the Redskins in preseason play in the 21st century.

The Packers' game with the Eagles will take place between August 10-13th and 17-21st for the Redskins. Official dates and times have yet to be announced for either game, however, they will be broadcasted on the Packers TV Network.

The second half of the preseason commences with a back-to-back road trip for the Packers, and they'll travel into Denver to face the Broncos in a rare August affair. It's the first time they've met the Broncos in the preseason since 2008. The general theme thus far is something that creates a little more of a mixed concoction for the Packers in August. 

The preseason finale for the Packers will occur in Green Bay against the Rams, who will be making their first trip to Lambeau Field representing Los Angeles since October 1994. There's more common ground there as the Packers have faced the Rams in pre-season action twice in the last four years.

The Packers will face the Broncos sometime between August 24-27th and the Rams on August 31st. Their game hosting the Rams sports the only date that has been set in stone. Another fact that has been ultimately decided by the NFL is that the Packers won't have a nationally televised game this August.

They also won't be seeing any teams in the preseason that they're set to face in the regular season.

Whether or not the Packers will be playing many of their starters remains to be seen, but there will be a lot of anxious eyes drawn on the draft picks from 2016 - and 2015 as well, whose productivity is expected to reach new heights in the upcoming campaign.
