Andy, please read the language of the rule change more closely. The distinction between hip drop tackle and swivel hip drop tackle isn't it; you also have to pin at least one leg under your body at or below the knee. Without that it's not a penalty, at least as written. And I've seen several serious injuries caused that way, last season alone. Without pinning the defender's leg underneath you, I don't see how this is much of a risk.

Dillon: he doesn't run with his listed 4.53 speed. He could focus on re-gaining that, but with Josh Jacobs and #31 Wilson both on the roster that has minimal value. He's not shifty. He's probably above his listed #247. If he focused on increasing his power and adapting to being a lead blocker I don't see why he couldn't, and you've not made a good case why he couldn't. I think that's much more likely to be something he can contribute at a high level on the current roster than being a playmaker at RB2. If all the starters are healthy I can't envision a situation with both Tyler Davis and AJ Dillon on the field at the same time. Let them compete for it. Dillon has become very sure-handed as a receiver. Jacobs runs MUCH better with a lead blocker out ahead of him, until he sees an opportunity to cut and get ahead of his blocker to extend a play which is one of his strengths. This is about maximizing Jacobs while we have him. Hopefully MLF does that somehow ...
