Looks like Jones was disrespected in an offer of 4 Mill or slightly below with incentive for 1 mill. Jacobs deal is essentially a 1 year and play to get paid. Maybe we need to use this method at CB and LT and see how that goes....Not well I would assume. I expect 2-RB's in the draft 1 pretty high.

They can't afford to overpay everywhere like they did with Jacobs.

I think this takes away the need to draft one higher. When they drafted Jones and Williams all they had on the depth chart was Montgomery. You can get good backs late in the draft. With Jacobs I don't see one taken before the 3rd.

I said earlier that Aaron Jones was one of the most electrifying players in the game today. Certainly on the Packers. He was also a class act as a person. He did not deserve this. I wish the best for him especially when he plays the Packers. I hate to say it but that's ' how I feel now. .Arguably his best game was the last one against a stout Forty Niner defense. Aaron Rodgers was right . Management does not respect it's loyal players no matter how talented. The loss of Jones will really hurt the morale of the players in the locker room as well as on the field. How could it not? As was pointed out they could have cut Royce Newman instead for the extra cash. How insulting the Packers low ball offer was! This is why Green Bay doesn't win super bowls. To think I was praising Gute for his decisions for the past few years. No more. I have lost all respect for Gute and all the rest of management who let him make this horrible decision. Frankly, I am depressed about the whole thing. Thanks for nothing Gute!

You can't keep players around because they were good at one time. Jones can still play but not for 17 games and his salary was too much for that. You aren't going to win Super Bowls by over paying old guys past their prime. That isn't how the Pats won 6, they where ruthless when a player hit 27. Packers have struggled because they have paid too much to too few players instead of building out a full roster. If you are paid a top salary you better product week in or week out or the roster suffers because of it.

This is idle speculation, And, Just for the record they will pay more for Jacobs. Moreover who is to say Jacobs won't get injured? Finally Jones is a far better all round RB than Jacobs is. Why do you think the Raiders didn't resign him? Why do you assume Jacobs will have a better year than he had last year? .Stop apologizing for the Packer brass. They screwed up.

Totally with you mate! Aj took a 5 million $$ pay cut to help the cap and remained faithful to Gutey, no. GUTEY did the same tactics the other day, and aj said FUCK ALL !! Should have departed last year, different club, contract and more money.

Everyone is assuming that if Jones signed, they'd also have gotten Jacobs for the dynamic duo. If I'm Jacobs, I don't sign on to be Jones's backup or even partner. I think it was either/or and in that scenario I go with the one that contributes for more than parts of the next one year
