Hopefully they have someone waiting in the wings that can make 60+ yard field goals on a regular basis and be deadly from 50 and under in any weather. That's the new standard, and Mason can't do that. The league is way too competitive to use two roster spots for a KO specialist and a FG kicker.
Thanks for your service, Mason. I hope you enjoy your retirement after making multiple millions of dollars for kicking a ball between two posts.

You're expecting that kind of FG ability and a great KO too. We'd all love to see it but that might not be reasonable.

I"ll tip a drink to him this week. He served the team well over the years and did his job. Probably was time for all to move on. Good luck Mason. Thanks for the kicks.

It is always difficult to see a Packer great come to the end of his career, particularly when it is an involuntary retirement. Unfortunately an aging leg that could no longer reliably boot it out of the end zone coupled with a high salary during a tight cap period spelled the end to a long and illustrious career as the best kicker in Packer history.

Crosby has always been a class act for the Packers and I wish him the very best in any future endeavors. Thanks for the memories Mason!
