I have no faith in Packer MGT. I fear they will accept mediocre compensation for a gifted talented athlete who for 18 seasons was clearly one of the best NFL & Packer players of all time. Look what the Lions got for Stafford and Seahawks for Wilson. I would expect two first round picks 2023 & 2024 1st round then a 2023 2nd round. Maybe a jets WR also..? Jets already got a break when they received Brett Favre for a conditional 4th round pick what a joke...

"gifted talented athlete who for 18 seasons was clearly one of the best NFL & Packer players of all time"

Yes, that's true but it's in the PAST. His 91.1 passer rating was average last season, he'll be 40 this year, and when most QB's skills deteriorate they do so very quickly.

Past results are no guarantee of future performance, unfortunately.

Stafford and Wilson are both younger than Rodgers and neither was threatening to retire before they were traded. At this point, the Jets cannot be 100% certain that Rodgers won't retire at the end of this coming season, which lowers his value.

Don't get me wrong - I'd LOVE to get the deal you wrote about, but I'd expect a R2 this year, a conditional R2 in 25 if Rodgers plays in 24 (unless we trade Bahk to them, in which case we should get their 13 pick this year and a R2 in 24). I'd also love to see us get Elijah Moore, too. But even this, I fear, is too rich for the Jets.

It will be an interesting trade, if it happens.

Matt Stafford and Russell Wilson were SIX YEARS younger than Rodgers is now, when they were traded (they were 33, he is 39). Do you remember that Rodgers said he was 90% going to retire before his darkness retreat. There is a very good chance that the Jets only get him on a one year rental.

therefore any comparison with much younger players is foolish and very, very naive.

We would all like the Packers to get what they can in compensation, since we are Packer fans, but let us have a little realism here.
