Will it be day two of the "we should have traded up to draft a guy who wasn't selected in the first round" kind of day?

How far will the beloved DeJean fall today. It would be unremittingly cruel were Gutekunst to pass on him twice, we might have to put a portion of the fan base on suicide watch. Take away the sharps from Ross Uglem.

What would it take to move back into the 40s from our 58th pick? Personally, jockeying around in the next two rounds would be fine, as long as we come away with four picks tonight. If it costs a day three pick to get your guy, so be it.

Don't worry fine folks, the rounds will take care of themselves. The mad lad Gutester is George Foreman and the rest of the NFL is (Smokin Something) Joe Frazier.

It will be said after this evening is in the books:

Down goes Frazier! Down goes Frazier!

Yeah, hey barkeep...,you got a wet towel you can toss over here? I've been enjoying these pretzels and mustard but spilled some Dijon on my Dijeans. Oh, and while your up...another Leinies and a pack of them seasoned Swisher Sweets...yep, the wooden tip ones.

Oh, I'm gonna need some quarters for the jukebox too. D2: Baby's Got Her Blue jeans On by Mel McDaniel.

Hell yeah, almost everything is right, right about now regarding the GBPs

Pantz in a 3-pt Stanze

***SUBTERFUGE*** Gute will make a move and other teams feel it will be for Cooper so they stand pat. Wellllllll, Gute grabs us a LB! (keep this tight-lipped please) Don't let that poster Fubared(?) read this since he may tip off the Vikings who are REALLY GOOD at making trades for RBs that do well representing the USA in bobsledding. Hell yeah...

I keep hearing how the NFC North pretty much smoked GB in last night's 1st round. Maybe...maybe not.

Last I checked, the draft has 7 rounds.

Tonight, in rounds 2 and 3, where a lot of folks think drafts are defined, consider the following:

GB has FOUR selections.
Chi has ONE.
Det has ONE
Minny has ZERO.

Let's revisit that argument later tonight.

Welcome to GB Jordan Morgan. Keep building that OLine. I think we have a unique opportunity to build a great one for years to come with 5 picks in the top 100. One more Oline pick amongst the next 4 should go a long way to achieving that.

Ya and sitting at 58 you can kiss the very talented and available d backs good bye. I still firmly believe the pack do not want to pick a known named star because they don't want to pony up to the bar.
You get Jordan whomever and tell him, Jo your not a left tackle and your not getting left tackle money, your a hybred developmental.
If I'm right all the killer d backs green bay needs to off the board and we sit and get someone you scratch your head over.

Honestly, I have never thought of so many moves and contemplated my strategy about this evening since I laid my eyes on that Auburn-eyed beauty at the end of the bar in Tulsa back in 1987.

I played "I Ran" by A Flock of Seagulls. Swallowed a couple Velamints, combed the eyebrows and went about my business walking over to her and introducing myself.

Gute, don't blink, just look in the NFL's eyes and win their hearts. No stealing kisses...just leannn in and trust you instincts and pure thoughts and envision the future.

Gute's doesnt like to take players that "experts" and others think they should take or would be a great fit for Packers, he would rather take "head scratchers" that dont really make sense at a certain point in the draft process because then he looks like the smartest guy in the room..."see, no one else even thought of this guy at this point of the draft"....he'll most likely do it more than a few times again this weekend...

I don’t understand the logic of picking up a couple day three picks. Did they expand the roster size? Is there an allergen inherent in high draft picks? Churning the bottom of the roster instead of adding immediate starters doesn’t make sense…SMH.

The more players you draft, the better your chances of hitting on a good one. The Packers have some very good players right now who were drafted in the fourth round or later. Zach Tom, Dontayvion Wicks, Carrington Valentine, and Rasheed Walker are not bottom of the roster guys.

So far so good. The Packers first 5 picks are perfect scenario to take in this order. OL, LB, S, CB, & RB, in that order. Keep it going Packers, we didn't want Nubin anyway. Here comes Hicks or Bishop. I called it.

Agreed. Best case scenario for me was getting OL, LB, and safety with the first three picks. They are 2/3 of the way there, and safety is the one they can most afford to wait for. I didn't think they wanted Nubin either.

I won't be surprised if some of the picks we just picked up (and later ones) are used to move up our third or fourth round picks. This draft gets pretty weak in round 6, so moving more into the fifth or earlier would be a good move as well. I'd also love to see a trade for an extra pick in next year's draft.

Our defensive line is going to make our linebackers better, but we still needed some bodies. If we play 2.5 linebackers per snap, over 60 plays, that's over 150 snaps per game, 17 times a year, and the playoffs. Even if you have one guy who plays every snap all year, you still need two more. And that's if nobody gets hurt.

The Athletic guide "The Beast" has both Cooper and Bullard as the 2nd ranked at their respective positions.

Cooper #46 on their Big Board (Packers took him at 45)
Bullard #53 on their Big Board (Packers took him at 58)

Add that to rd 1, Morgan #29 on Big Board (Packers to him at 25).

A pretty boring draft with every Packer pick so far being picked right around where they were valued by both CHTV Draft Guide, and The Athletic Draft Guide. More importantly they were picked where the Packer FO valued them.

We know who the trolls are who like to manufacture drama, but sorry. No drama.

Point here is that we got arguably the best LB, Safety, and RB in the draft. We all have preferences based on which pundits we prefer, but you cannot argue that day 2 yielded explosive potential for this team. I’ll trust Gutey and his staff verses PFF or ESPN.

When you have a veteran team and want to get younger I can see the whole trading back to get more picks thing, but when you have the youngest team in the league practically you bring in so many young players that you are cutting the ones you brought in the 2 year's before. I just don't get it, they already had 11 picks and you cant find talent out of that many? Maybe Gute needs to learn how to draft the first time around instead of taking a bunch of mediocre talent later down the road and hope you find a gem. Like I said I think it works with a Veteran team getting younger but now you have to decide between this years picks and the couple years before. Not really what they needed this year IMO.

Interesting on tv, on the NFL network whoever the color commentator is says that Lloyd was his #1 RB in the draft and that the Packers "got the best running back in the entire draft" (saw the film clip on NFL.com, I think it was Daniel Jeremiah talking).

Nick Saban on ABC said he was his #2 RB in the entire draft.

CHTV had Lloyd at #4 RB, and at #49 on their Big Board (Packers get him with pick 88).
PFF had Lloyd at #84 on their Big Board.

What a great day 2 for the Pack! Best off ball LB in the draft, best versatile safety/slot in the draft, top 3 RB, and a stud athlete depth LB. The Pack addressed what they needed AND stockpiled more picks. Day 3 is set up with so much capital. Of course there will be whiners, but please! Our roster is loaded with talent now with more to come. Gutey nailed it. Respect.
